I’ve been debating what the funniest, most fan-fury-inducing thing any hypothetical Silmarillion movie/show could do would be, and I think the answer is to condense the sons of Feanor. There are so many of them! And they aren’t particularly individualized! You could just… cut a few. Who needs seven whole kinslayers? You get get it down to three or four, easy.
#silmarillion#amrod and amras are SO cuttable and that gets you down to five#and i honestly think you could rearrange it down to just celegorm and curufin (they get to stay because they’re in the lay of leithian)#celegorm can also have the dubious honor of taking over maedhros’ ”captured by morgoth” plotline and idk aredhel can rescue him#then they go cause trouble in nargothrond#and commit three kinslayings without dying until they get the damn rocks back#at which point curufin slits his own throat and celegorm disappears forever into a forest#everybody would hate it so much and it would be so so funny
